To quit or not to quit?

I've been a smoker now for about 13 years. I've been trying to quit smoking for the last 5 years without much success. I always seem to make excuses to start up again or I start to gain weight and lit up again. I'm again thinking about quitting smoking but also want to lose weight. I'm just afraid that if i quit I'll start putting on the pounds I'm trying to lose. Anyone have any suggestions?
